A ProScript is a digital veterinarian-initiated prescription created in vRxPro®. ProScripts can help to drive compliance, manage refills, and more.
A ProScript is created in three steps:
- Select the Patient
- Select the Product
- Write the Prescription
To begin:
- Select Create Rx from either the left navigation or the Quick Link Tile on your Homepage.
- Use the search bar to locate the patient you are creating the ProScript for (search by client, patient, or contact details).
Note: If you do not see the client or patient that you are looking for, click the Add Client or the Add Patient button. Click here to learn more about Adding a New Client or Patient.
- Once you have located the correct patient, click on their name to proceed.
Select the Product
Now that your client and patient are selected, you can select the product you need to prescribe.
- Use the search bar to locate the product (search by product name or active ingredient).
- Once you have located the product, click the product name to proceed to the prescription pad, or select View Details to see product information.
Note: If the product is a compounded medication, a Dose Forms button will also be displayed. Click here to learn more about Creating a ProScript for a Compounded Medication.

Patient, Client, and Product information, as well as any potential Client Savings, will be displayed at the top of the page.
