Navigating Rx History
Use the search fields and filters at the top of the page to filter the results. To view the prescription history for a specific patient, search by Patient Name or Client Last Name.
From Rx History, you can view all prescriptions at a high level or select an individual prescription to view more details.
To expand an individual prescription, click anywhere on the Rx line. This will give you additional information such as products prescribed, the issue date, refills, directions, and any additional notes. From the Rx details, you can also resend the Scriptminder email to the client.
Tips and Troubleshooting
- When a patient’s weight changes and they need a new prescription for a different dose or weight, it is best practice to archive the original prescription first, then write the new prescription.
- If you are unable to approve a prescription due to a weight discrepancy (for example, a patient weighs more than 100lbs and needs 2 sizes of Heartgard), scroll down to the SmartScribe Conflict Detection: Reason for Overriding the Weight section. If you enter a note here about the patient’s weight, it should be accepted and allow you to continue authorizing the prescriptions.
Please note: To change the directions on an active prescription, with a processing order, you will need to speak with a pharmacist. Please call 877-999-2838, option 2 - Clinic Staff, Option 1 - Pet Owner Online Pharmacy Inquiries, and option 1 - New Scripts/Approval. If the prescription is in Recommended status with no orders, or if it is Active with no processing order but has shipped orders, you can archive and resubmit.
