Delegates are users who have been designated by a veterinarian to recommend and authorize vRxPro® prescriptions under their license.
Delegate Permission Levels
There are three delegate permission levels:
- Basic
- Advanced
- Manager
Basic
Any practice user can be a Basic Delegate. These users can recommend or authorize prescriptions for Over-the-Counter (OTC), Approved Over-the-Counter (AOTC), Diet, or Preventative products under this veterinarian’s license.
Advanced
Any practice user can be an Advanced Delegate. These users can recommend or authorize prescriptions under this veterinarian’s license for all products except controlled substances. Authorization for controlled substances will require additional verification by the pharmacy.
Manager
Only User Administrators can be a Delegate Manager. These users can recommend or authorize prescriptions under this veterinarian’s license for all products except controlled substances. Authorization for controlled substances will require additional verification by the pharmacy.
They can also assign and approve both Basic and Advanced delegate permission levels for additional users for the designated veterinarian.
Only veterinarians can assign Delegate Managers, and there can be only one Delegate Manager per veterinarian.
Note for veterinarians: As the license holder, you are solely responsible for monitoring the continued competency of your delegee(s) and must immediately revoke any delegated authority if the individual leaves your practice or if you believe they no longer have the ability to perform the delegated tasks.
