The Performance Update Report provides summary level data on storefront trends over time. This report will give you insights into revenue trends year over year, new vs. repeat buyers, and top products and categories.
The first page focuses on revenue, showcasing monthly and year-to-date (YTD) revenues vs. the same period prior year. The top chart showcases a high-level view of the past two years, while the table at the bottom breaks down actuals for the current month compared to the same month last year, and YTD this year vs the same period last.
Ideally, you will see increases year over year as you ramp up and hone your processes and workflows. Where you see peaks or sudden increases in the slope of your line, think through what you may have done that month to generate impact so you can apply those lessons moving forward. Where you see dips, think through if they are mirrored year to year due to seasonality or if they could be due to other factors.
The second page of the Performance Update Report provides insight into who is shopping from your store and what they are buying.
At the top, we have a chart and table comparing the number of new buyers vs. repeat buyers on your storefront. Marketing is the best way to increase your monthly new buyer counts, while features like AutoShip enrollment will help your repeat buyer counts stay strong.
The bottom half of the second page breaks out all sales for the prior 12 months by category and highlights your top 10 products by revenue. This table reports on the number of orders, number of buyers, and amount of revenue generated as a result, as well as what percent of your total revenue is contributed by that product.
